421st Tactical Fighter Squadron “Black Widows”
Limited edition of 10 pieces signed by retired Air Force General Ronald Fogleman
Long before highly decorated Air Force legend Ronald Fogleman became a 4-star General, a legendary U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff, and a National Aviation Hall of Fame enshrinee, he was a young fighter pilot flying F-100 Super Sabres over North Vietnam and Laos as an elite Misty FAC - a high-speed, low-level, high-risk forward air controller.
His second combat tour in 1973 and ’74 was just as dangerous, flying the McDonnell Douglas F-4D/E Phantom II as a Fast FAC commander with the 421st Tactical Fighter Squadron “Black Widows”. Of his 315 Southeast Asia combat fighter missions, 80 were with the 421st. His awards include a Silver Star, two Distinguished Flying Crosses, 17 Air Medals, and a Purple Heart.
Warbird Aviation Art is delighted to announce our latest release, a limited edition of only 10 pieces of actual F-4 Phantom aluminum which have each personally been signed in gold ink by retired General Ronald Fogleman.
Each features my hand-painting of the famous 421st Tactical Fighter Squadron “Black Widows - Kiss of Death” insignia, numbered and then mounted in a beautiful walnut shadow box frame with an engraved brass I.D. plaque for a museum-like presentation.
As always, each ready-to-hang panel comes with my letter of provenance that includes photos taken at the signing. As a bonus, included is a diagram of the F-4 showing the location on the Phantom from which the original, new-in-the-box aluminum was sourced.
With each truly a piece of Air Force history and a unique family heirloom, you won’t want to miss out on this very limited General Fogleman-autographed edition - featuring original art on real Phantom skin. #1 of 10 has already been purchased. Contact me today to get your commission in the queue!
